Eagle Trail or Thakhi Paka, in Aymara, is the name that the first farmers put the road along the top right of the river La Paz.
The path is meandering and suitable for walking and bicimontaña. Six bridges are distributed along the same, and at least three viewpoints on the route. On the right side there are rocks of up to 50 meters that invite climbing. On the left, some trees and below, the river La Paz.
The three come together in the Path of the Eagle, in the south of the city of La Paz, where the thermometer reads 20 degrees Celsius most of the year and the sun heats up. It is the site where the circuit is born and Cultural Ecotourism Mallasa, a space that offers a mile with 700 meters where you can go hiking, climbing and bicimontaña, while their natural roofs offer beautiful views of the southern valley.
Now become an area for recreational sport and extreme, the road was opened in 1838 when Marshal Andrés de Santa Cruz ordered by a decree opening link downtown La Paz to Rio Abajo. In the early twentieth century, driven by mules floats passing through the narrow place with bags of carrots, tomatoes, lettuce, prickly pears and peaches. Now, every weekend, people of all ages and wandering around looking to fill their lungs with fresh air away from the stress of the concrete avenues.
The route of the Eagles and Aniceto Arce Cactario offer contact with nature within 40 minutes from the Plaza Murillo.
